Himachal Pradesh cabinet gives nod to increase marriageable age of girls in Himachal 

Himachal Pradesh Council of Ministers today gave the nod to increase the marriagble age of girls from 19 to 21 years in a cabinet meeting held today.

A spokesperson of the government said that CoM decided to increase the marriageable age of girls from 18 years to 21 years and carry out necessary amendments in the respective Acts and Rules. 

The decision was taken to give relaxation of six months in age to children seeking admission in class 1st in Primary Schools in the State.

The cabinet decided to grant Maternity leave for 180 days under the Maternity Benefit Act, of 1962 to the female cook cum helper with less than two surviving children in the Department of Education.
