Himachal Pradesh has been accorded special recognition at Deloitte’s flagship government conference, Ārohaṇa 2025, for its visionary digital governance initiative — the “Him Parivaar Project.”
The Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, participated in the conference and addressed the Plenary Leadership Lecture session. In his address, the Chief Minister elaborated on how the state has strategically leveraged digital technology to build a future-ready, transparent, and citizen-centric governance framework.
The Chief Minister described the “Him Parivaar Project” as a game-changer in governance. He explained that the initiative integrates data across various departments, enabling targeted delivery of welfare schemes, eliminating duplication, removing ineligible beneficiaries, and strengthening policy and planning processes. The Chief Minister stated that the project has significantly enhanced efficiency, transparency, and fiscal accountability in the implementation of social welfare programs.
He also highlighted other key digital initiatives of the state, including:
· HimAccess – the state’s single sign-on digital identity platform, and
· HimSeva – an integrated service delivery portal that provides hundreds of citizen services online.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives aim to make governance simpler, faster, and more inclusive, thereby benefiting citizens, especially those residing in remote and hilly areas.
Chief Minister Shri Sukhu, who also holds the portfolio of the Information Technology Department, commended the role of the state’s Department of Digital Technology & Governance (DTG). He specially appreciated the visionary leadership of Shri Gokul Butail, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister (DTG & Innovation), and praised the exemplary work of Dr. Nipun Jindal, Director (DDTG), and his dedicated team, who have successfully translated the state’s ambitious digital governance vision into reality.
This recognition at Ārohaṇa 2025 underscores Himachal Pradesh’s position as a national leader in leveraging technology for inclusive governance and reaffirms the state’s commitment to building a secure, transparent, and future-ready digital ecosystem.
