Himachal Govt claims procurement of 2830 metric tons of paddy in Solan District

Himachal Pradesh Government procuring paddy for the first time in the state directly from the farmers claimed that 2830 MT paddy has been procured.

So far 2820 metric tons of paddy have been purchased in the paddy procurement centers of Solan district.

Rajeshwar Goyal, Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation said after inspecting Malpur and Nalagarh paddy procurement centers of Nalagarh sub-division of Solan district last evening.

He said that appropriate arrangements have been made for the convenience of farmers at all the paddy procurement centers established in Solan district.

Mr Goyal said that the state government is ensuring that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling their paddy crops. 

He said that the payment for paddy purchased from farmers is being made directly into the farmers’ accounts within 48 hours. 

The Managing Director took stock of the procurement arrangements in Malpur and Nalagarh paddy procurement centers and interacted with the farmers present.

Rajeshwar Goyal said that the state government is determined to quickly resolve various problems of the farmers.

On this occasion, he discussed various topics with the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee and officials of the Agriculture Department. 

He said that commendable efforts have been made by the committee and the department for the convenience of the farmers. On this occasion, he instructed that after purchasing the paddy, the process of making rice from it should be expedited.

Rajeshwar Goyal said that as per the instructions of the state government, after making rice from paddy, it is fortified so that the prescribed nutrients can be made available to the people by adding them to the rice.

On this occasion, Managing Director Rajeshwar Goyal received feedback regarding paddy procurement from the farmers present in the paddy centers. Farmers expressed satisfaction with the procurement and appreciated the efforts of the government.

On this occasion, Solan area regional manager Virendra Kumar Azad and other officers of the corporation were present.
