Himachal Government not extending the lease of Wildflowers Hall to the Oberoi Group
Himachal Pradesh Government has stated that it would not extend the lease of Wildflowers Hall Hotel and attached 118 Bigha estates with this state government property.
Giving a version on the issue of taking back the possession from Oberoi Group Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan told media persons during a cabinet briefing yesterday that despite the move to take back the possession state government would no longer keep this prime property with the EIH Ltd.
He said that the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government would not hand over the further lease of Wildflowers Hall to a hospitality company in the public interest.
He said that a decades-old legal battle was won by the state government and Arbitration awards were announced in favour of the state and government Tourism secretary on November 17, 2023, already passed executive orders to take back the property to Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation as IAS officers Mansi Sahai is appointed administrator of the property and hospitality unit.
He said that the Government would vacate the stay from the Himachal Pradesh High Court as a single bench of Justice Satyan Vaidya issued status quo on the eviction executive order on Nov 18.
A division bench of the Himachal Pradesh High Court in October 2022 gave the verdict in favour of the state government and announced the arbitration award in favour of the Himachal Pradesh Government.
According to EIH ltd HPTDC official have returned empty hands from Wildflowers hall yesterday as they could not obtain the possession from the hospitaly unit after high court granted injection in the matter.
