Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has claimed that the Congress government is working towards making the state self-reliant in the coming times. He has said that Congress is working towards making Himachal self-reliant. He said that the Congress government has increased the revenue by 20 percent during its one year tenure. GST has also increased in the state. Addressing a joint meeting of district and block presidents, cabinet members, students, former MLAs and leading organizations at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan today, Sukhu said that this time the Congress will hoist the flag of victory on all four Lok Sabha seats of the state. He said that Congress will fulfill all its guarantees. He said that the government will soon create 20 thousand employment posts in the Public Works Department and Irrigation and Public Health Department. He said that Rajiv Gandhi Startup Scheme has been started under which unemployed youth will be provided subsidy by the government for setting up e-vehicles and solar energy plants. He said that the government has fulfilled its first guarantee by implementing OPS. He said that the state government did a great job in providing relief to the people during the disaster. He said that by amending the disaster relief manual, great relief was given to the affected people. He accused BJP of not providing any support to the government during the disaster. He said from what mouth will BJP now ask for votes in these elections.Sukhu called upon the party officials to give complete information about the one year’s achievements and future plans of the state Congress government. He said that from tomorrow, January 17, the government is starting a door-to-village campaign in the state in which every minister, MLA and other leaders will go from village to village and give complete information about the achievements and future plans of the Congress government.Earlier, while addressing the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the financial crisis of the state is the contribution of the previous BJP government. The state government has inherited a loan of Rs 92 thousand crore and liabilities of more than Rs 10 thousand crore employees. He alleged that BJP leaders in the center of the state are creating hurdles in the central schemes of the state. He said that the Central Government has also reduced the loan limit of the state. Mukesh called upon the party officials to come forward in solidarity and enter the election fray from now on, saying that this time the BJP has to defeat the BJP on all four counts in the state. State Congress President and MP Pratibha Singh has said that the Congress in the state will face the Lok Sabha elections with unity. Pratibha Singh called for publicizing Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra among the people and said that people of all parties should put the stickers of this yatra on their vehicles to spread the purpose of his yatra to the people. He said that Rahul Gandhi is fighting a big battle against the injustice happening in the country, murder of democracy, tampering with the Constitution and we have to strengthen his hands.Pratibha Singh also called upon the party leaders to contribute wholeheartedly to the All India Congress Committee’s donation for the country.In the meeting, Pratibha Singh, while advocating the Chief Minister to give respect to the hardworking workers of the organization in the government, said that the dedicated and hardworking workers of the party are the backbone of the party. He said that leaders can be former but not workers, hence workers should be given due respect in the government.Former ministers Ram Lal Thakur and Kaul Singh Thakur also addressed the meeting.District heads and block presidents, MLAs and heads of leading organizations also expressed their views in the meeting
