Himachal Government assure to probe into financial anomalies in ITI Building at Kotli in Mandi

State Government assured the members of Himachal Pradesh Assembly that it would probe the financial anomalies about payment of Rs 18 Lakh to contractors of incomplete ITI Building projects. Education minister Rohit Thakur was giving reply to a query raised by the Anil Sharma of BJP member (Mandi) in the question hours on Wednesday.

 Mr Thakur said that the building of ITI at Kotli in Mandi district is under construction and the revised administrative approval amounting to Rs.9,30,22,300/- only has been accorded for construction of ITI building at Kotli. He also said that funds as per requirement of the Executing Agency (HPPWD) would  be provided on receipt of utilization certificate in respect of Rs.2,63,43,000/- only released earlier for this purpose.

Members alleged that payment of Rs 18 lakh was paid to the contractors and the government should lodge a probe against the contractors for misleading the department. The Minister said that the Government found serious financial anomalies in the matter and it would lodge a probe in the matter on the demand of members. He said that unutilized funds tune to two crore is pending in the account for the project. The Minister said that only 20 per cent of the project is completed .The Education Minister said that the ITI building at Kotli is under construction and it could not be completed so far.
