Himachal byelections : 18 candidate in fray after scrutiny of nominations paper

As many as18 candidates have been remained in fray after scrutiny of nomination paper on Monday for state one parliamentary and three assembly constituency by election in Himachal Pradesh.
Spokesman of the State Election department informed here today that the process of scrutinizing the nomination papers filed for the bye-elections to Mandi Lok Sabha constituency and Arki, Fatehpur and Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly constituencies has been completed. After scrutiny, nominations of the six candidates including four covering candidates have been rejected.

Nominations of six candidates from Mandi Parliamentary Constituency have been found valid. These include BJP candidate Brigadier Kushal Chand Thakur, INC candidate Pratibha Singh, Rashtriya Lokneeti Party candidate Ambika Shyam, Himachal Jan Kranti Party’s Munshi Ram Thakur and independent candidates Anil Kumar and Subhash Mohan Snehi. 
The nominations of covering candidate of  Congress party Sunder Singh Thakur and BJP’s Priyanta Sharma have been rejected.
Nominations of Rattan Singh Pal from BJP, Sanjay of Congress and independent candidate Jeet Ram have been found valid from Arki Assembly constituency. The nomination of Indian National Congress covering candidate Satish Kumar Kashyap has been rejected from here.

 He said that nominations of five candidates have been found valid from Fatehpur Assembly Constituency, including Baldev Thakur of BJP, Bhawani Singh Pathania of Indian National Congress, Pankaj Kumar Darshi of Himachal Jan Kranti Party and independent candidates Dr. Ashok Kumar and Dr. Rajan Sushant. 
The nomination of Indian National Congress covering candidate Jeet Kumar was automatically rejected while the nomination of independent candidate Prem Chand has been rejected due to technical reasons from this constituency.

 Nominations of four candidates have been found valid from Jubbal-Kotkhai Assembly Constituency. These include Neelam Seraik of BJP, Rohit Thakur of Indian National Congress and independent candidates Chetan Singh Bragta and Suman Kadam. The nomination of independent candidate Kewal Ram Negi has been rejected due to technical reasons.
Last date of withdrawal of  nomination is Oct 13 and polling would be held on Oct 30 for Mandi Lok Sabha, ArkI, Jubbal-Kotkhai and Fatehpur assembly constituency all the seat have been fallen vacant after demise ofone sitting MP and three MLA.
