Himachal Assembly remember Pt Sukh Ram the pioneer of Telecom Revolution in India

Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today remembered former Union Minister Sukh Ram as the pioneer of Telecom Revolution in India and Himachal who demanded it recently. On the first day of Monsoon Session Members were paying obituary  references to the demise of former members Pt Sukh Ram, Mast Ram, Roop Singh Chauhan and Parveen Sharma. Speaker Vipin Singh Parmwar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, Parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Revenue Minister Mohinder Singh, Rural Development Minister  Virender Kanwar  Congress member Asha Kumari, Former Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and CBI members and other members paid tributes to the demised member. All the members specially mentioned about the role of Pt Sukh Ram as the pioneer of Telecom Revolution who ended the quota Raj in the Telecom connections and revolutionized the rural Telephony, Broad Band, 2G and 3 G mobile and landline and landless telephone services in the state. Sukhvinder Singh Sukh said that Pt Sukh Ram was Mashiyha of Telecom revolution as he allotted the land line services and also introduced STD and ISTD telecom services in the country. Sukh said that the increasing suicidal tendency among the political leaders is matter of concern as former Congress MLA Mast Ram and Member of Paraliment Ram Swraoom ended their lives after committing suicide. Mr. Suresh Bhardwaj said that Parveen Sharma was remanded in jail for 14 days under MISA and DIR ( Defense India Rule) during emergency. Later the house also observed silence in their respect.
