Higher Toll Rates Kick In on Parwanoo–Solan Highway: Commuters Brace for Added Costs

Drivers on the Parwanoo–Solan National Highway woke up to steeper toll charges this week, as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) rolled out revised rates at the Sanwara toll plaza starting midnight Sunday.

The new fee structure affects all categories of vehicles, from cars and jeeps to heavy trucks, and is expected to pinch both daily commuters and transport operators who rely on this busy stretch of NH-05.

  • Cars, jeeps, vans, LMVs: ₹110 one-way, ₹165 return, monthly pass ₹3,675
  • Local commercial vehicles: ₹55 per trip
  • Light commercial vehicles/mini buses: ₹180 one-way, ₹265 return, monthly pass ₹5,935
  • Buses/trucks (two axles): ₹375 one-way, ₹560 return, monthly pass ₹12,440
  • Heavy vehicles (three axles and above): ₹405–₹710 per trip, monthly passes ₹13,570–₹23,750

The toll collection agency will not only manage fee collection but also maintain facilities like restrooms at the plaza. NHAI has directed agencies and banks to ensure smooth enforcement of the new rates without delay.

For many, this change means recalculating travel budgets—whether it’s families making frequent trips or truckers hauling goods across Himachal.
