HGVS and Polytechnic College sign MoU on drug de-addiction
To curb the growing drug addiction in society, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at a meeting chaired by the Principal of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti and Polytechnic Women’s College, Kandaghat. The college faculty and committee members held a very positive discussion and formulated a concrete strategy. The MoU agreed to work together on various issues, especially drug de-addiction, without any financial or legal restrictions.
State Secretary of the HP Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Satyawan Pundir, said that for some time now, concrete interventions have been underway on various aspects through MoUs with various colleges and educational institutions in the state. He said that the committee has been continuously working on issues related to literacy, education, scientific mindset, health, environment, gender, cleanliness, etc. for more than three decades. Currently, the committee is working comprehensively and comprehensively on various aspects of the growing drug addiction crisis among youth through the Yuva Bachao Abhiyan. On the one hand, it is working on family and parenting in community intervention and on the other hand, it is working on scientific intervention among youth through scientific management of adolescence.
He stated that in the near future, the two institutions will continue to collaborate on a regular basis, organizing sessions with female students on various topics, primarily addressing issues related to drug addiction, peer mentorship, mental health aspects, gender, and the concept of MAA.
On this occasion, apart from the college administration, on behalf of the committee, co-secretary Sita Ram Thakur, psychologist Dr. Ravi Bhushan, Dr. BS Panwar, retired teacher from BCS Robin Sinha, retired professor from Nauni University Dr. Rajiv Agarwal, youth worker Dr. Varun Agarwal, retired DPE Urmil Thakur, retired from health department Jayant Sharma, Devendra Sharma etc. members were present.
