Heavy snowfall affects power supply in 3320 DTRs

Heavy Snowfall continue in seven to eight districts of Himachal Pradesh since last three days affected power supply 3320 distribution Transformer Regions however it was restored in many places but 1355 DTRs are still affected, spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board said.
Spokesperson of HPSEB Anurag Parashar said that staff was deployed at the affected locations for early restoration of Power Supply on Sunday which restored power supply in most of places but 3.89 percent area are still affected 
He said that out of 34855 DTRs as many as 3320 DTRs were out of order on Sunday due to continue rain and snowfall in the 11 circles of State.
Braving inclement weather conditions  efforts are being made by HPSEBL’s field units to restore power supply to 1965 places all remaining 1355 it would be restored on warfooting on Monday.
As many as 495 Power Supply line in Shimla circle , 398 in Dalousie and 256 in Nahan are still affected.
Expressing regret over non availability of power inhospitable Weather condition in state Mr Prashar said that remaining DTRs have not been restored as staff was unable to reach at site due to road or path block due to heavy snowfall.
South zone comprising Shimla, Rampur, Rohru, Solan and Sirmour district was most affected as 2070 regions are affected and 782 DTRs in Central and 498 DTRs in North Zone are affected in the state, he added.
