Health check up and counseling organized for malnourished children, DC Bilaspur distributed nutrition kits
Under the National Nutrition Campaign, a special health checkup and counseling camp was organized for malnourished children at Regional Hospital Bilaspur under the joint supervision of District Administration Bilaspur, Red Cross Society and Women and Child Development Department.
On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur Abid Hussain Sadiq attended and distributed nutrition kits to families of all 50 children from District Red Cross Society. He also gave insight on the importance of children’s health, nutrition and better lives. A total of 50 children of Sadar block were health tested and necessary tests were conducted in the camp, along with specialist doctors gave proper health advice to the children.
Important effort towards a malnutrition-free future in the district: District administration aims that no child in the district suffers from malnutrition. For this, malnutrition problem is being solved by providing information about health checkup, consultation, free medicines and nutrition. Such camps are being organized regularly to give continuity to this initiative.
Malnutrition Statistics: According to District Program Officer Harish Mishra, 37 overly malnourished and 110 undernourished children have been identified in various blocks of the district. Camps already held in Ghumarvi and Shri Naina Devi block, while camps will be held on Saturday at Jhanduta block.
Medical Superintendent Dr at this camp Satish Kumar, District Program Officer (ICDS) Harish Mishra, Secretary of Red Cross Society Amit Kumar and other officers were present.
