Health Authority sounds Monkeypox Alert in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh National Health Mission Director sounded Monkeypox Alert in Himachal Pradesh ordering the district medical officers to remain alert over outbreak of virus pandemic in the hill state. 

Along with advisory to number of states, central government has also alerted Himachal Pradesh about the possibility of spreading contiguous monkeypox virus. In wake of increasing its cases  in many countries of the world, NHM Mission Director Hemraj Berwa said that the central government has issued necessary guidelines regarding monkeypox to state. He said that an alert issued to state by central government, caution it  to keep an eye on this disease.  The central government has made it clear to the state government that if any one shows symptoms of monkeypox in the state, then immediately report it and start treatment.  The Center has asked the state government to keep a watch on those people who have come here after traveling from monkeypox affected countries.  It was after have these instructions received from the center that state government has also sounded alert.  The Health Department has also passed necessary guidelines and instructions in this regard to all the CMOs. The advisory said that 8n case of its outbreak state have to take promot actions following precautions. Advisory said that  in view of the increasing risk of the disease, Health official should immediately isolate patients with symptoms of this disease. No such patient was sofar reported in the hills State. The threat of pandemic couldn’t ruled out as including Dharmshala, Manali, Kullu, Shimla and Leh Ladhak number of foreigners visit the state.
