High Court seeks reply over Manikaran violence by religious organization
Himachal Pradesh High court taking Suo Moto PIL on courts its own motion today ordered the state of Himachal including all the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of the all districts to submit status report in the Manikaran incident and uproar created by the some religious outfit of Punjab in Bilaspur district. The division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sabina and Justice Satyan Vaidya registered a Public Interest Litigation courts on its own motion versus state of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday. Advocate General Anup Rattan and additional advocate Vinod Chandel was present in court while court took Suo Moto cognizance on the Manikarna incident and the uproar created by the people of Punjab in Bilaspur, directing the state government to file status report whether it has taken any action on the said incidents occurred during last few days in different parts of the state. On behalf of State notice was accepted by Mr. Varun Chandel , Additional Advocate on behalf of respondents and requested for an adjournment to enable him to seek the state reply. Court has now fixed the next date of hearing on March 13, 2023 in the matter.
