HC bars the disqualified BJP councillor to participate in Shimla MC meeting

Himachal Pradesh High court today bar the disqualified ruling party councilor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Sanjeev Sood to patriate in house meeting seeking SMC past records about him.
This order was passed by the Division bench of Himachal Pradesh High court Comprising acting chief justice Mr  Ravi Malimath and justice Joytsana Rewal while hearing a writ petition filed by Rakesh Kumar here today.
Talking to our correspondent the counsel for the petitioner Mr Sanjeev Bhushan said that Court also order the SMC to submit the records of councilors before the court on next hearing to show how many meeting he hold after his disqualification from the membership since Nov last years and decision taken by the MC on his recommendations.  
The Court fix next date of hearing after the four week of issuing this order. The ruling party nominated Councilor Mr Sood was disqualified from his member ship by the Director, Urban Development in an  order passed  on Nov 2  2020  for encroachment of     Government land and submission of false affidavit before the department during his nomination.

The councilor was charged by the petitioner for submission of false affidavit before the department however the civic body allowed the disqualified councilor to continue to serve as councilor after the disqualification. Petitioner said that the councilor have encroached upon the government land and made an illegal construction in 5.25 square meter.
