Hati Vikas Manch demanded to make Solan Rajgarh Meenas Road a National Highway
A memorandum was handed over to Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan under the leadership of State Hati Vikas Manch President Pradeep Singh Singta and General Secretary Dr. Anil Bhardwaj, demanding to declare Solan-Rajgarh-Haripurdhar-Ronhat-Minas road as National Highway or to include it immediately in Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana. The minister assured to raise this important issue with the central government.
The Hati Chairman said that this historic road, which was built between 1958 and 1962 with the help of people’s labour under the leadership of the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, is in the category of Major District Road even after about six decades, but till date it has not been able to get the status of State or National Highway.

Due to the narrow road and bad condition, accidents happen every day, especially during the rainy season. This road is the main means of access to life, livelihood, education and health facilities for more than three lakh rural and tribal people of Sirmaur district.
Pradeep Singta said that this road is also very important from religious and tourism point of view. Through this route, innumerable devotees and tourists visit major pilgrimage sites like Chudhar, Maa Bhangyani Temple, Shri Renuka Ji in lakhs every year. He said that better road facilities will give a new direction to religious tourism, local trade and agriculture. He said that this road passes through the Scheduled Tribe dominated areas of Trans-Giri region and will also benefit the tribal community of Jaunsar-Bawar of the neighboring state of Uttarakhand. The upgradation of the road will prove to be a revolutionary step for the tribal society in the direction of education, health, employment and social inclusion.
