GST savings festival in full swing across the country, Congress govt in Himachal is imposing tax burden on the public: Nadda
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the auspicious festival of Durga Puja and Dussehra is being celebrated with devotion and joy across India. Additionally, under the inspiration of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the GST Savings Festival is being celebrated across the country from September 22nd, the first day of Navratri. GST on most items of daily need has been either reduced to zero or significantly reduced, providing significant relief to the common people. While the GST Savings Festival is being celebrated across the country, the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh is further increasing the tax burden on the public. We all know that Himachal Pradesh is trying to recover from the massive losses caused by the natural disasters of cloudbursts, landslides, and floods. Under the inspiration of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, GST exemption was granted on cement to address the needs of home construction and infrastructure reconstruction in Himachal Pradesh. This reduced the price of cement by up to ₹30 per bag, as the GST on cement, which previously charged 28%, has now been reduced to 18%. However, the people of Himachal Pradesh were unable to benefit from this because, instead of reducing the price of cement, the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh increased the price. The Himachal government has been engaged in looting the public, which is not in their interest, and which should have benefited them, since the day the GST exemption was introduced. In the name of anti-dumping duty, the Himachal government is now charging up to ₹16 per 50-kg bag of cement. When Himachal Pradesh is facing a disaster and economic hardship, instead of providing relief to the common people, the Congress government is busy filling its coffers. This is unethical and insensitive. Unfortunately, cement produced in Himachal Pradesh is cheaper when sold in neighboring states, but is being sold at exorbitant rates in Himachal Pradesh. The current Congress government is so insensitive that it has increased taxes on water bills along with cement. Taxes have also been increased on stamp duty. A fee of Rs 100 has been imposed on rural water supply. Electricity bills have also been increased significantly. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi wants to provide relief to the people of Himachal Pradesh. But the Congress government is busy making them miserable by burdening them with taxes and fees. This exposes the inhuman face of the Congress government towards the people of Himachal. No amount of condemnation is enough. Sukhu’s government has ruined the economic condition of Himachal Pradesh in the name of false guarantees. The people will teach this anti-people government a lesson when the time comes.
