Governor Shukla inaugurates 4-day International Summer Festival

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the four-day-long International Summer Festival at the historic Ridge here on Saturday evening. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also present on the occasion.

The Governor said such events help in preserving and promoting the rich culture of Himachal Pradesh. The Summer Festival, organised during late evenings at the Ridge, also provide relief from the scorching summer heat to the locals as well as tourists and offers them grandeur spectacle of celebration, said Shri Shukla on the sideline of the function.

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap who is also the Chairman of the Summer Festival Organizing Committee welcomed the Governor and honoured him by presenting a Himachali cap, a shawl and a Memento. 

He also honoured Lady Governor, Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Local MLA Harish Janartha present on the occasion.

The Governor also witnessed the cultural night. The main highlight of the cultural night was a performance of ‘Nati King’ Kuldeep Sharma.

Mayor, MC Shimla Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, SP Sanjeev Gandhi and other officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.
