Government College Pazhouta honours meritorious students

The annual prize distribution ceremony of the Government College Pazhouta was concluded with great enthusiasm in the college campus. The chief guest of this ceremony was world record holder Dr. Jogendra Habbi and the president and special guest was Padma Shri Vidyanand Saraik.

After lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and formal welcome of the guests by the Principal of Government College Pazhouta, Dr. Shivani Sharma, the Principal, while reading the annual report of the college, said that this session has been full of special achievements of teachers and students for the college.

He told that the students of NSS unit – Kashish and Anjali Verma participated in three National Integration Camps. Apart from this, Kashish, Anjali Bala, Nitika, Neeraj and Anjali Verma participated in the Inter-State Youth Exchange Program and Aniket, Nitin, Rishabh, Ashu Ashwani Kumar and Rahul participated in the Inter-District Youth Exchange Program. Also, Ashu Ashwani Kumar and Rahul Gandharva have made the college proud by participating in various skill development training camps.

Among the students who received awards from the hands of the chief guest, Jyoti Bala was first in the annual examinations of BA I, Smriti Chauhan was second and Rohan Atri was third. Anjali Wala was first in the annual examinations of BA II, Manju Kumari was second and Kajal Thakur was third. Sapna Devi was first in the annual examinations of BA III, Tanu was second and Sakshi Verma was third. In sports, Chirag was selected as the best athlete from the boy category and Upasana from the girl category. Among those who participated in the day camp with the National Service Scheme, Payal and Aashu Ashwani Kumar were awarded the Best Camper Award, while Anjali Verma, Kajal Thakur, Anjali, Kashish, Nitin, Rishabh, Rahul Aniket Ashok Kumar Neeraj, Gaurav, Gunjan Sharma, Trisha, Chirag and Neha Chauhan were honored as the best volunteers of Eco Club, Red Ribbon Club, Electoral Literacy Club, Road Safety Club and National Service Scheme.

In his speech, the chief guest Dr. Jogendra Habbi appealed to the students to focus on their studies and stay away from addiction. The special guest of the ceremony, Padmashri Vidyanand Saraik, made the students aware of their responsibility towards culture along with imitating modernity. The college’s professors Vijender Kanwar (Political Science), Professor Saurabh Thakur (English), Professor Asha Rani and Professor Aniket (Commerce) were the moderators in various sessions of the ceremony.

In the end, the program concluded successfully and happily with the vote of thanks to the guests and the national anthem by Professor Prakash Sharma of History. All the teachers and non-teaching staff of the college were present in the program.
