Girls excell boys in Himachal Metriculation Examination

Himachal Pradesh School Education Board (HPSEB) Dharamshala has declared the result of class 10th. The exam result has been 74.61%, which is worse than last year. The result in the year 2023 was 89.7%. Ridhima Sharma of Government School, Nadon, Hamirpur district has topped in the state by scoring 699 marks out of 700 (99.86 percent).

Kritika Sharma of Newgal School Bhawarna, Kangra district stood second with 698 (99.71%). Three children have jointly secured a place in the merit list at the third position. Shivam Sharma of Government School Barathi, Dhriti Tecta of Glory International School Rohru and Rushil Sood of Bharati Vidyapeeth Baijnath scored 697-697 (99.57%) marks.

91,130 children appeared in this examination conducted by HPSEB. Of these, 67,988 children have passed the examination, while 10,474 children have got compartment. 492 children were found absent. 12613 children have failed.

In Himachal, on the lines of 12th class, girls have dominated class 10th also. Among the top 92 children, 72 are daughters. Similarly, among the top 92 children, 22 are from government schools and 70 are from private schools. This means that government schools have once again been overtaken by private schools. 69397 children from government schools and 21733 children from private schools took this examination. Still, 70 children from private schools are included in the top 92.

This examination was taken from March 2 to March 21 in 2258 examination centers set up across the state. This time the Education Board has declared the result in record time, 15 days ago.

In the year 2023, the result of class 10th was 89.7%. Last year, 91440 students had appeared for the class 10th exam and 81732 students had passed it. Whereas 7534 children had failed.
