Former Palampur Legislator Dr Shiv Kumar passed away.

Former Palampur Legislator Dr Shiv Kumar passedaway at Chandigarh this morning the vidhan Sabha secteriate confirmed in a press statement .
He was 80 yrs old and elected from Palampur assemly in 1990., Dr Kumar was  internationally renowned social worker  
He founded many educational institutions besides Himachal’s only eye hospital Maranda. He started destitute and old age ashram in Saliana.
 Dr. Shiv Kumar was also a BJP MLA from Palampur from 1990 to 1992.  This is when Shanta Kumar won from Palampur and Sullah from two places.  He had to vacate a seat.  On this, Shanta Kumar left the Palampur seat and Shiv Kumar had won the by-election held there.

Vidhan Sabha speaker Vipin Singh Parmar condoled the demise of Mr Kumar and expressed condolence to the family member of the deceased.
