Former HP pollution control board chairman & Cong MLA KS Pathania files nomination for speaker 

Former Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Pollution control Board and five times Congress member of Assembly from Bhatiyat of Chamba district Kuldeep Singh Pathania filed nomination for speaker of Himachal Pradesh 14 state legislative assembly at Topvan Vidhansabha complex on Wednesday. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, outgoing Assembly Speaker and MLA Vipin Singh Parmar and State Congress President Pratibha Singh were present present during nomination of Mr Pathania.The BJP led by Leader of Opposition, Jai Ram Thakur also endorsed his name, facilitating smooth election.. No other MLA filled hid nomination for this post therefore Kuldeep Singh Pathania (65) has unanimously elected as the 18th Speaker of the 14th Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh. Mr.   Pathania had been elected as an MLA in 1985, 2007 and now in 2022 on Congress ticket, however in 1993 and 2003 was elected as an independent. He was appointed as chairman of State Pollution control Board in 2013 by Virbhadra Singh .
