Former CM cremated at Rampur with full state honour on Saturday

Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh cremated according to royal tradition and with
full state honour  at Jognika bag at Rampur town as thousands of people paid tribute to Mr Singh with a sombre atmosphere.

Himachal Pradesh Police Jawan unit gave guard of honour to Mr Singh amid the presence of a galaxy of  political
leaders, local people, relatives and a number of media persons. State Government announced three  days mourning  
after the demise of Mr Singh on Jul 8.

The mortal remains of  Mr Singh were kept at Rampur place for public tributes. Mr Singh’s mortal remains draped in tricolour were loaded
in a specially designed open Coffin box which was carried to Jognika Bagh in the last journey started from Padam Palace around
1430 hrs.

Mr Vikramaditya Singh political and family heir of Mr Singh who have performed the royal traditional ceremony  ‘Raja Tilak ‘
inside the Palace( not made public 0 amid sounding of trumpets and traditional music instrument Dhol and drums.

People surrounded all the path including the roofs and dales up to crematorium standing across the both the side of the road
showered flower petals on his coffin box shouting the slogan  Raja Sahib amar rahi ( The king shall remain immortal).

Mr Vimramadityha Singh lighted the fire on the pyre of Mr Singh at Jogni-ka-bagicha, the royal crematorium of Rampur Bushair estate
with guard of honour to Mr Singh by the Jawan of state police.

Prominent among those present on this occasion were Member of Parliament Parneet Kaur, Education Minister Punjab
Vajinder Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr  Bhupesh Baghel,  former UPA minister Pawan Bansal, Congress state incharge
Rajeev Shukkala, Chief MinisterJai Ram Thakur, Urban Development Minister Mr Suresh Bhardwaj, Forest Minister
Mr Rakesh Pathaniya

Member of  Parliament Mr Anand Sharma, Former Party president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu party state President Kuldeep Singh  
Rathore, Opposition leader in Himachal Pradesh Assembly Mukesh Agnihotri Former Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Party MLA from
Sujjanpur  Rajinder Rana, Cong MLA Haresh Vardhan Chauhan Inderdutt Lakhanpal and Mohan Lal Bragta, Former MLA
Sudhir Sharma, Rohit Thakur etc.

Mr Singh died at IGMC in early hours of July 8 after suffering prolonged illness and two  covid attack . The last remains of Mr
Singh was displayed to public tributes on Jul 8 and 9 and were carried to  his ancestral home Padam Palace at Rampur Bushair.
