Fire breaks in eight tents of Kulku Duessehra festival

A major fire broke out in Sultanpur Dussehra festival ground in front of the court complex in Kullu today.

According to the district administration, many shops and tents were gutted in a fire during the Dussehra festival. 

In the move to douse down the inferno, two people got burn injuries. Both have been admitted to a nearby hospital. 

According to the local police, “some shops of shoes and plastic were completely or partially damaged. 

Seven to eight tents were also burnt in the fire in which the ‘chariots’ of gods and goddesses were kept. The drums and musical instruments of a few gods and goddesses were burnt in the fire.

Officials said the ‘chariots’ had been removed when the fire broke out. Temporary arrangements have been made for the people affected by the fire.
