Edwards Association working to go green

Edwards School Association President Rajiv Sood said the school organized a car rally, which began at Edwards School. The rally was flagged off by school principal Anil Squirea. The rally continued from the school to the Naldehra Golf Club, where a gold medal competition was also held.

Rajiv Sood said that Edwards School is working towards the goal of Go Green and under this, cleanliness and tree plantation programs were also organized in the school and other places. Go Green is the most important need of today’s time, the way the environment is getting polluted and controlling pollution will be the biggest challenge for the coming generations. To fight this challenge, we all have to work towards the goal of Go Green, if work starts today then the future will improve. Rajiv Sood said that about 73 cars took part in the car rally and 41 participants took part in the Gold competition.

He stated that implementing circular economy principles is crucial to recovering materials from waste and reducing the burden on resources. He urged effective enforcement of EPR regulations for plastic packaging, e-waste, battery waste, waste tires, used oil, end-of-life vehicles, construction and demolition waste, and non-ferrous metal scrap to facilitate EPR certification for producers and recyclers.

Rajiv Sood said that participants from across the country and the world have come to Shimla to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Edwards School. Each shared their experiences from their respective fields of work with the school students, boosting their morale.

He praised the extraordinary spirit, determination, and record-breaking performances of the World Para Athletics participants, which have brought pride to the country and should inspire us all. India achieved its best performance in the history of the World Para Athletics Championships, finishing 10th overall with a record 22 medals – 6 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze. These are not just para-athletes, but India’s power athletes. The pride you have brought to the country by winning medals, and the inspiring message you have sent, especially to the differently-abled, is commendable. The courage you have displayed is amazing.
