ECI approves 61 proposals
Since the Model Code of Conduct was imposed, as many as 77 cases for permissions of various types were received by the Election Department from different Government departments out of which 61 proposals were approved and 7 were referred back for clarification/deferred, stated a spokesperson of the State Election department here today. The proposals are considered and decided based on the urgency and unavoidability of the same, with the condition that no one should derive any political mileage from it.
While giving details about the cases, he said that the ECI has granted permission for Promotion/postings for various posts in several departments which includes General Administration Department (GAD), Secretariat Administration Department (SAD), Police, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Home, Jal Shakti Department, Health & Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh Public Work Department (HPPWD), Personnel Department etc.
Some transfers and joining requests were also allowed in the Department of Education for TGTs, Information and Public Relations, HPPWD, revenue department etc. Permissions were granted to the State Taxes and Excise department for auction and allotment of liquor vends in the state.
Spokesperson said that the ECI has given permission for re-surfacing and tarring works on paths within Municipal Corporation (Shimla) limits as well. Besides, permissions were also granted inviting tenders for transportation of food grains and other essential commodities to the tribal and in-accessible areas for the year 2024-25. Besides, permission was also given to invite open tenders for transportation of Food grains and other items from Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns to HP State Civil Supplies wholesale godowns and further to Fair Price Shops.
During this period major tenders concerned with Agri-Canon (Plant Protection Equipment) and Micronutrients, Procurement of Seeds by Agriculture Department, Stationery items for High Court, Procurement of Biometric machines for UD department, tyres, tubes & flaps in the transport department, dual desks in education department, ENA for General Industries corporation etc were approved by the Commission.
Spokesperson said that ECI also gave permissions for providing allowance to Judicial Officers, Social security Pensions for the existing beneficiaries, outsourcing the services of ex-servicemen, consultancy services of 25 disaster management professionals, supplementary implementation agreements for projects allotted prior to the notification of Swaran Jayanti Energy Policy 2021, Release of funds under Swachh Bharat Mission, National Urban digital mission. Permission was also granted to the Pollution Control Board for processing cases related to consent to operate/renewal of pollution certificates. Permission to notification to designate the maps for showing vending and non-vending zones in Solang special area, Parole permission to convicts etc was also granted.
