Earth Day celebrated at Junga School

Earth Day was celebrated in the Government Secondary School, Junga. Principal Suman Chandel, while addressing the children, said that on the occasion of Earth Day, this year’s theme has been kept as Planet vs Plastic. The purpose of celebrating this day is to bring awareness among people about the environment and encourage the efforts being made to save the earth.
He said that due to the industrial revolution, carbon emissions on the earth have increased significantly, due to which climate change and pollution on the earth have increased a lot. This is causing great harm to the earth. The amount of plastic on our earth is increasing day by day. Every year 3.5 million tonnes of plastic waste is generated in India and it takes 500 to 1000 years for a single plastic item to decompose on Earth. If plastic continues to be used on our earth at this rate, then by 2050 only plastic will be seen in the ocean instead of fish. Small particles of plastic come into our bodies along with various food items and gradually they accumulate in our body and cause many serious diseases like cancer, liver and kidney diseases, and heart attacks. Are.
On this occasion, students gave the message of minimum use of plastic through an interactive session. Students from class VI to class VI participated in poster-making and slogan-writing competitions. Joint activities were conducted in the school by the National Invention Campaign and the Mayur Eco Club. Warij Kaushal gave useful information to the students about earth conservation.
