e-courts Project Phase-III for maximum ease of justice: Jagat Singh Negi

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi attended the meeting with State Law Ministers on e-courts Project Phase-III organised by the Department of Justice, Government of India (GoI) here today through video conferencing. Representatives of various state governments and high courts also attended the meeting.

He said that this project as a central sector scheme spanning four years (2023 onwards) has a financial outlay of Rs. 7210 crore. The phase-III has 24 components which aim to usher in a regime of maximum ease of justice by moving towards digital, online and paperless courts through digitization of the entire court records including legacy records and by bringing in universalization of e-Filing/e-Payments through saturation of all court complexes with e-Sewa Kendras.

The Minister informed that the main objective of phase III is to create a unified technology platform for the judiciary, which will provide a seamless and paperless interface between the courts, the litigants and other stakeholders.

Secretary Department of Justice, Government of India S.K.G. Rahate conducted the meeting and presented the vote of thanks.

The Advocate General of Himachal Pradesh Anup Kumar Rattan flagged the issue of internet connectivity in the state especially tribal areas, to which the Department of Justice, GoI informed that it will be very well covered in this phase of the project.

Senior officers of the state government were also present during the meeting.
