Due to the negligence of the electricity board, there was no electricity in Peeran for 31 hours
Due to the negligence of the Electricity Board, there was a minor fault in the power line from Shilabag sub-station to village Peeran, due to which there was a 31-hour power cut in Peeran, due to which people had to spend the night in darkness. Former Pradhan Dayaram Verma, Atar Singh Thakur, Hansraj Verma, Jabar Singh Thakur, and many others said that the power went off at 7 am on Tuesday, which was restored after 2 pm on Wednesday. Hansraj Verma said that he had informed Junior Engineer Junga at 10 am the previous day. Expressing surprise, he said that despite giving information, no employee was sent to the spot on Tuesday, due to which students and elderly people had to face a lot of trouble without light at night. Apart from this, due to lack of electricity, all electrical appliances including mobiles had stopped working.
Local people say that the power lines are several decades old but the electricity board has not replaced these lines till date, only minor repairs are done. Especially the condition of the line from Shilabag sub-station of Sirmaur district to Peeran is very bad due to which the power supply in this panchayat is disrupted every day. Due to the absence of any employee of the electricity board in this area, many times local youths put fuses in the transformer risking their lives. Due to the negligence of the electricity board, any accident can occur anytime. Perhaps the electricity board is waiting for this day.
The local people have demanded from the government that an employee should be permanently posted in Peeran Panchayat so that this problem can be solved permanently.
SDO Electricity Sub Division Junga Yashwant Singh said that there is a serious problem of electricity supply in Peeran Panchayat, for the solution of which talks will be held with higher officials.
