Dr. Sikandar Kumar visited area affected by torrential rains in Chabutra village of Hamirpur

Today Dr. Sikandar Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP and State General Secretary BJP visited the area affected by torrential rains in Chabutra village of Hamirpur district and met the affected people. Due to heavy rains in this village, the houses of 9 families were destroyed and all these families belong to the Scheduled Caste.
Dr. Sikandar Kumar said that along with BJP workers, he distributed essential items of daily use like solar lights, tarpaulin, medicines etc. to the affected families in addition to food items.
Dr. Sikandar Kumar said that due to heavy rains, there has been a lot of destruction in various parts of Himachal including Chamba, Dalhousie, Mani Mahesh, Kullu, Manali, Mandi, Sundarnagar and other areas and in this hour of disaster, all the MLAs, MPs and all the workers of BJP are engaged in relief work at their own level. He said that BJP is continuously working to provide ration kits and other essential items to the affected people. He said that BJP National President and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda visited the flood affected areas along with Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal and provided all possible help to the affected families. The Central Government sent a team to Himachal to take stock of the damage caused in the state. After that, the Central Government provided an amount of more than Rs 400 crore for disaster relief, but the next amount could not be given yet due to the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of the state not depositing its share.
Dr. Sikander expressed regret and said that the present state government is embezzling the relief funds received from the Centre even in this time of disaster due to which the funds are not reaching the affected people. He said that earlier relief material was sent to the families affected by cloudburst in Siraj, Dharampur and Nachan of Mandi and today ration kits are being sent to Chamba. BJP is standing with the affected people in this hour of disaster and is ready to provide all possible help.
On this occasion, District President Hamirpur Rakesh Thakur, Youth Front State President Dr. Sunny Shukla, Minority Front President Gurmeet Singh, District General Secretary Ajay Rintu, Sujanpur Mandal President Jaswant Singh, General Secretary Suresh Thakur, Sardar Parvinder Singh and other BJP workers were present with him.
