Dr. S.P. Katyal, Chairman State Food Commission paid courtesy call to Governor Shukla

Dr. S.P. Katyal, Chairman, State Food Commission, Himachal Pradesh, paid a courtesy call on His
Excellency the Governor of Himachal Pradesh today.
Dr. S.P. Katyal apprised His Excellency about the functioning of the State Food Commission and
the initiatives undertaken over the past one month. He also highlighted the core schemes being
reviewed and closely monitored by the Commission under the National Food Security Act, 2013,
namely:

1. Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS)
2. PM-POSHAN
3. Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS)
4. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)
   His Excellency appreciated the efforts of the Commission and shared valuable suggestions to
   further strengthen the system and make services more accessible to the people at large.
   On this occasion, Dr. Katyal also suggested that the present month would be most suitable for
   visiting the Shirgul Maharaj Mandir at Churdhar. His Excellency graciously agreed to the
   suggestion.
