District level training organized under RBSK program

A district level meeting and training was organized here today under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). All the members of the RBSK team participated in this two-day training. The meeting was chaired by Chief Medical Officer Shimla Dr. Rakesh Pratap. He said that the objective of this program is to strengthen the capabilities of the RBSK team and ensure effective implementation of the program in the district.
The CMO said that RBSK is a major program under the National Health Mission (NHM), which aims to identify and intervene in congenital disorders, diseases, nutritional deficiencies and developmental delays (4D) in children early. He said that a total of 14 National Child Health Program Mobile Health Teams are working in Shimla district, which are providing free examination and treatment for the above 4D to children from 0 years to 18 years. This program is being implemented in Himachal Pradesh since the year 2016. Under this, out of the target of 124178 set in the year 2024-25, 80333 children were examined till December 2024. Congenital disorders in 74 children, nutrition related diseases in 515, other related diseases in 2000 children have been identified and treated. Along with this, Rs 20 lakh has been spent this financial year for heart diseases and other surgical treatment. Under the Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, in Shimla district, 75984 children were examined till December 2024 and anaemia was found in 16252 children.
In the meeting the RBSK teams were encouraged to create awareness among the community to participate in the 100 days campaign to eradicate TB and also sensitized the children and community to be more aware about the mental health and de-addiction issues which are rapidly increasing among the young generation.
