District level Dussehra fair concludes in Junga

The two-day district-level Dussehra fair concluded in Junga last evening. In the wrestling competition organized at the fair, wrestler Hari of Badi Mali Delhi won by defeating wrestler Ashish of Haryana in the final. Similarly, Bhupendra of Chhoti Mali Dhami won by defeating Babbu of Kangra. On the occasion of the closing ceremony, Tehsildar Rural Shimla Hiralal Gejta participated as the chief guest and honored the winner and runner-up of Badi Mali by giving a cash amount of Rs 51 thousand, and the winner and runner-up of Choti Mali with a cash amount of Rs 31 thousand. Women’s tug-of-war competition was organized at the fair. Mahila Mandal Bharandi got first position and Shaloth got second position. Both these women’s groups were also honored by presenting them with trophies.
Gazette said in his address that the Dussehra fair has been celebrated in Junga since time immemorial in which the culture of this region is clearly visible. He said that the ancient tradition of the fair should be maintained. Gazette said that fairs and festivals are symbols of the culture and civilization of our state, organizing them creates a feeling of mutual brotherhood, love, and mutual cooperation among the people, which strengthens the unity and integrity of the nation.
Before this, Tehsildar Junga Ravindra Singh Sisodia welcomed the chief guest and gave detailed information about the history and activities of the fair.
On this occasion, local Praghan Bansi Lal Kashyap, local fair committee head Pankaj Sen, Madan Mohan, Motiram, Surendra Sen, and other officials of the committee were present.
