Discussion on dual degree programs of Nauni and Western Sydney Universities held

A two-member delegation from Western Sydney University recently visited Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, visited Nauni, and discussed dual degree programs and possible collaboration between the two institutions. Professor Linda Taylor, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Western Sydney University, along with Kopal, a representative of the New Delhi office, were also part of the meeting.

Nauni University Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajeshwar Singh Chandel welcomed the delegation. The deans of all four constituent colleges of the university and all statutory officers, including Neri and Thunag, actively participated in the discussion.

Professor Chandel said that the discussion included various educational initiatives such as 3+1 and 3+1+1 degree programs as well as dual degree in MSc and PhD programs. Additionally, the fellowship opportunities and eligibility criteria were discussed in detail. Subsequently, Professor Linda Taylor interacted with the undergraduate students and highlighted the collaborative efforts between the two universities and fellowship opportunities for them.

Last year , the two universities formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) , to jointly offer dual degree programs at the BSc , MSc and Doctoral levels. . These programs are designed to enrich students’ employability , skill sets and understanding of technology-driven sectors such as horticulture , forestry , biotechnology and food technology. This partnership includes both universities undertaking collaborative research projects ; Joint activities such as conferences , seminars and lectures ; Joint publications and other educational activities ; Will work together to explore opportunities for joint academic programs and joint courses and exchange of academic staff and students, etc.
