Direct bus service should be started for (AIIMS) Chamiyana: Prem Thakur

Shimla District BJP President Prem Thakur has demanded the government to start special bus services for Atal Super Specialty Medical Institute (AIIMS) Chamiyana. In a statement issued to the media on Saturday, Prem Thakur said that the government has hastily opened a super specialty medical institute in Chamiyana but no arrangements have been made for the patients and their attendants. He said that the super specialty OPD has been shifted from IGMC Shimla to Chamiyana. Due to lack of special bus services for Chamiyana, patients have to pay a hefty fare for private vehicles to reach Chamiyana. He said that taxi or private light vehicle drivers charge eight to nine hundred rupees from the attendants. Apart from this, there is no provision of canteen for the convenience of patients and attendants in this medical institute. In the absence of a canteen, the patients who come to this institute for treatment have to remain hungry and thirsty throughout the day.
Prem Thakur says that the condition of the road connecting Bhatta Kufar to Super Specialty Medical Institute Chamiyana is very pathetic. In case of light rain, this road becomes potholed and slippery, making it difficult for vehicles to drive on this road. In clear weather, so much dust flies in it, which is very harmful for the patients. He said that this super specialty medical institute should have been started only after the creation of facilities. He told that this institute was the dream project of the previous BJP government, in which apart from the establishment of the medical institute, all other facilities for the patients and their attendants were provided. To take credit for this, Sukhu government inaugurated it in a hurry, but no attention has been paid to the facilities of the patients.
