Dilapidated condition of Sirmaur’s Sarahan Chandigarh road is a matter of serious concern: Suresh Kashyap
BJP MP Suresh Kashyap raised the issue of the deplorable condition of the Sarahan-Chandigarh road, serving the Pachhad Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh, under Rule 377 in the Lok Sabha, drawing the central government’s attention to it. He said the road is not only a major connecting road for six gram panchayats in the area, but also an important interstate route connecting Himachal Pradesh with Haryana and Chandigarh.
Suresh Kashyap stated that this approximately 42-kilometer-long road is currently in extremely dilapidated and poor condition. Recent heavy rainfall and landslides have severely damaged the road in several locations, leaving it narrow, broken, and treacherous. He added that a large number of people travel on this route daily, but the poor condition is causing significant difficulties.
He said that due to the poor condition of the road, people in the area are facing difficulties in accessing health, education, and other essential services. Farmers are also facing serious difficulties in getting their produce to market on time, affecting their livelihoods.
MP Kashyap urged the government to take necessary steps to quickly improve, widen, and permanently strengthen the Sarahan-Chandigarh road. He said this route should be developed on a priority basis to provide safe and convenient transportation to the people of the area.
He said that the Central Government and the concerned departments should take the condition of this important route seriously and take action as soon as possible, so that the people of the area can get relief and the overall development of the area can be ensured.
“This route is not just a road, but the lifeline of the region – any delay in its improvement would be an injustice to the public interest.”
