Dhani Shandil chairs IT based solution for providing healthcare

Health and Family Affairs Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil today here chaired a meeting on IT-based application solutions for Government Medical Colleges to enhance healthcare delivery. He said that the integration of digital technologies has the potential to transform medical services by improving efficiency and transparency, benefitting patients and doctors.

In the meeting a detail discussion was held on e-health platforms, hospital information management systems and real-time data management.

The Minister highlighted the need for secure, patient-centric solutions that support timely diagnosis, effective monitoring and better coordination among healthcare professionals, thereby strengthening the overall public healthcare system.

Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil stated that Sugam Swasthya mobile application had been developed for online registration and e-Sushrut, a web based Hospital Management Information System, for patient registration, billing, OPD, IPD, nursing desk, admission, discharge, transfer, bed and inventory-store management and various other services.  The e-Sushrut has been integrated with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, ABHA, DVDMS, Mera Aspataal, SMS gateway and payment gateway. The e-Sushrut and Sugam Swasthya facilities were being implemented on pilot bases in 53 hospitals across the state, including 12 district hospitals, five medical colleges and 36 civil and sub-divisional hospitals.

The Health and Family Affairs Minister said that desktops, printers, UPS, bar code scanners and bar code printers have been supplied to all the 53 health institutions, 516 tablets has been provided to the hospitals, whereas process for providing 56 tablets was underway. The tablets would be used by the doctors in the IPDs for using OPD desk module of HMIS application, e-Sushurt, for entering the data of investigations and prescriptions.

In the first two years, since the implementation of e-Sushurt HMIS application on pilot basis in the 53 hospitals, 77,89,266 OPD registrations, 8,18,430 Emergency OPD registrations and 7,35,984 ABHA token generation have been made using the application. A total of 26,83,276 investigations have been raised, 3,72,529 inventory-drugs have been issued to patients and 2,04,898 admission, discharge and transfer have been successfully completed.

Secretary Health M. Sudha Devi, Mission Director NHM Pradeep Kumar Thakur, Principal Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties, Chamiana, Dr. Brij Sharma, State Programe Officer NHM Ravinder Kumar, Principal IGMG Dr. Sita Thakur and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
