Devotees’ Journey to Maha Kumbh Mela Turns Tragic: Bus Collision in UP Leaves 32 Injured
A bus carrying pilgrims from Himachal Pradesh to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj met with a tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district early Tuesday morning. The vehicle collided with a hydra crane on National Highway-2, leaving 32 passengers injured, including eight in critical condition.
Details of the Accident
Kaushambi Superintendent of Police (SP) Brijesh Shrivastav stated, “The bus, which was traveling from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, collided with a hydra crane near Kaushambi. Eight passengers have sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment at the medical college, while others are being treated at a hospital in Sirathu.”
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Sanjay Singh further elaborated, “The accident took place early Tuesday morning, resulting in multiple injuries. We immediately dispatched six ambulances to transport the wounded. Those with severe injuries have been referred to the medical college for advanced medical care.”
Swift Response and Government Assistance
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Solan district administration to coordinate with Kaushambi officials to ensure timely medical aid for the injured passengers.
Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi reassured, “The Solan district administration is in constant touch with the Kaushambi authorities to facilitate medical treatment and provide all necessary assistance.”
