Day boarding school: Oppn accuses govt of discriminating assembly’s of BJP members
Opposition BJP accused Congress rule of discriminating against the assembly segment of BJP Members under Rajeev Gandhi Day Boarding School Schemes alleging that 17 schools are being opened in the home assembly segment of the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and Congress members.
Raising this query in the question hours BJP Member Randhir Sharma alleged that most day boarding schools are notified in the assembly segment of Congress-related leaders and barring one assembly 18 schools are notified in the non-BJP assemblies which shows that the government is working in a most partisan manner.
Mr. Sharma wanted to know that schools were announced to open by the Congress government in last year’s budget speech and after one year the government could not complete the modalities, however, the government is ignoring the assembly segment of BJP leaders. He also said that the reply given by the education minister exposed the role of this government towards the opposition.
Replying to this query, Education Minister Rohit Thakur said that the Congress Government is opening the Rajiv Gandhi Day boarding school in all the assembly segments in the state but the land identification and mutation process could not take place with the 40 assembly segments which include a segment of 25 MLAs of BJP and Congress and independent MLAs. Defending the Government on the accusation made by the BJP MLA the house minister stated that instead of accusing the government they should help the officers to identify and expedite the FCA clearance and land mutation process so that the rest of the schools could be open in their respective assemblies.
Earlier replying to a written query minister informed the house that the Government had provided a budget for 2023-24 to the Rajiv Gandhi day boarding schools including Ghumarwin, Nadon, Badsar, Bhoraj, Sujjanpur, Jawalji, Jaswana Pragpur, Jaisinghpur, Palampur, Nagrota, Fhetapure, Jawalamukhi, Shahpur, Kinnaur, Jubbal Kotkhai, Shilali, Gagret, and Haroli.
The Minister said that under this scheme proposal of setting up the School in Banjar(Kullu district) is underway as 50 bigh lands were shortlisted and the proposal to take FCA clearance is already uploaded on the Website. The minister said that after uploading information consent is pending with DFO Banjar.
Rajeev Gandhi Day boarding schools are being opened five km away from the respective District, subdivisional, and Tehsil headquarters and condition transfer of 50 bigha land to the Education department is compulsory, if lands are not found available on the five km distance the condition could be relaxed upto eight km. Under the scheme, the Government is allotting Rs 34.74 Cr and Rs 8.76 Cr from the SC component to open the model education institutions in district subdivisions in Tehsil headquarters.
