Damaged pieces of the deity Junga were found during the removal of debris from the palace

While removing debris from the ancient palace of the erstwhile Keonthal State, which was damaged in a massive fire, idols of the deity Junga and other deities have been found. It is worth noting that a fire broke out in this palace last Wednesday, damaging a portion of the palace. The main temple of Junga, the presiding deity of the Keonthal State, was also buried in the blaze. However, the fire in the palace has been completely extinguished with the help of fire brigade, police, home guards, and local residents. For the past three days, hundreds of people from the Keonthal State were engaged in searching for idols from the palace and temple. Finally, on Saturday, all the idols of the deities kept in the temple were found, albeit in a damaged state.
It is noteworthy that Queen Mother Vijay Jyoti Sen and King Khush Vikram Sen were personally present during the kar seva to recover the Junga deity temple and idols buried in the fire. They stated that this devastating fire has caused irreparable damage to the historical heritage of the people of the Keonthal state, worth crores of rupees. They stated that in addition to the Junga deity temple and idols within the palace, the deity’s priceless treasure was also completely destroyed in the fire. They stated that a meeting will soon be held to discuss the reconstruction of this temple so that this historical heritage of the Keonthal region can be restored.
Rajmata Vijay Jyoti Sen stated that this palace is not 200 years old, but 800 years old, but it is being misrepresented in the media, which is inappropriate. She explained that this palace was a major heritage of the 22 Tikas and 18 Thakurais of the then Keonthal State. The people of the Keonthal region have a moral responsibility to preserve it. She added that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
