CPI(M) seeks to accept nomination on holidays

Communist party of India Marxist sought Election Commission of India to allow and accept candidates’  nomination papers on Oct 23 and Oct. 24 in wake of three days holiday between Oct. 17 to Oct. 25 . Party state secretary Dr Onkar Shad said in a letter submitted to chief electoral officer Minish Garag to intervene and  make a slight amendment to the schedule of the filing of nominations by candidates for the  Himachal Legislative Assembly. He said that in current schedule of nomination is scheduled from October 17, 2022, to October 25, 2022. During this period there are three holidays on which nominations will not be accepted. These three days are  October 23 -25; including Sunday and Diwali. He requested CEO to allow these three days for filling nomination papers as was done during the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections nomination schedule. He hoped that ECI would understand the complexities of the hilly region and accept his request. CPI(M) has decided to fight Assembly Election on 14 to 15 seats in Himachal Pradesh as it have one seat in current Assembly Mr Rakesh Singha is member of Assembly from Theog. AAP has decided to fight Assembly Election in Himachal Pradesh and declared four candidates in the state so far. Ruling BJP and Congress likely to fought Assembly Election on all 68 seats but it couldn’t finalize its candidate. Congress party spokesperson said on Saturday that it have finalized tickets on 28 Assembly seats baring Kangra and Nalagarh Congress have allotted tickets to all seating MLAs. Congress decided to go in Assembly Election without declaring face of Chief minister however BJP continue to fight elections under the leadership of Jai Ram Thakur and given call to party workers to work for changing electoral custom ‘ revaz badlo’.
