Construction work of 31 crore lift drinking water scheme in final stage, 10 panchayats of Junga area to get clean water

The construction of the Rs. 31 crore lift drinking water scheme being built for ten panchayats of Junga tehsil is in its final stage. After its completion, clean drinking water will be available to a population of about 20 thousand and there will be no problem of drinking water in these panchayats for the next 25 years. This has been confirmed by Arun Jain, Assistant Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Sub Division Koti.
He told that under the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme of the Government of India, an ambitious scheme of 25 crores 55 lakhs was approved in the year 2021. As its cost increased, the construction work of this scheme was awarded to Viraksha, a renowned company of Uttar Pradesh, for 31 crores on 10 March 2022. Let us tell you that for the first time in the history of Kasumpti constituency, such a big scheme has been approved by the government.
He told that under this scheme water will be lifted from Giri river in four stages. For its storage four tanks of six lakh litre capacity have been built in Kawalia, Manun, Chinese Bungalow and Shadog. For its allocation the construction work of 20 tanks of 20 thousand litre capacity, one of 40 thousand litre capacity and 15 tanks of 20 thousand and 13 thousand litre capacity has also been completed. He told that the construction work of the treatment plant to be built on Giri river is in progress. On its completion this scheme will be launched.
Arun Jain said that the rural areas of ten Panchayats coming under this sub division namely Darbhog, Peeran, Satlai, Koti, Janedghat, Junga, Patger, Bhadech, Balogh and Kufri Panchayat will get the benefit of this mega scheme. 00000
