Congress trying to take false credit for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana: Kashyap

Parliamentary constituency MP Suresh Kashyap has accused the ministers and MLAs of the state government of taking false credit by creating a drama of Bhoomi Pujan on the budget given by the Central Government for the rural roads of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase 3.

MP Suresh Kashyap said in a statement issued to the media that an example of this is that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase 3, the funds which have been received by the Central Government on the recommendation of the Lok Sabha MP, about Rs 200 crore, are from Kufar to Mahasu and Saraswati Nagar. There is a provision for maintenance, renovation and re-consolidation of Jhadasali road. But the local MLA and the Education Minister themselves are creating a drama of Bhoomi Pujan of these roads to take false credit for it, which is beyond the understanding of the public, whereas the local MLA has no role in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase 3 and Nor has the funds for these roads been released by the Central Government on the basis of the priority of the MLA. MP Suresh Kashyap said that the Modi government at the Center is committed to the maintenance and upliftment of rural roads and the Central Government has given the state the Prime Minister’s Gram. An amount of Rs 2600 crore has been made available to the state government in Road Scheme Phase 3.

He said that on one hand the ministers of the state government complain about the budget not coming from the central government and on the other hand the ministers of the Congress government are giving false credit by creating a drama of Bhoomi Pujan on rural roads which are more than 10 years old from the budget of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase 3. They are trying to mislead the public. The Congress government of the state has so far failed completely to compensate for the damage to the roads caused by monsoon rains and the condition of many rural roads is still very bad.

He said that the Central Government has provided continuous help to Himachal Pradesh. Under this, Himachal Pradesh Government has received Rs 2700 crore of Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana and all its works are informed by the MPs of Himachal. After that, all the departments prepare its DPR and get its approval.

MP Suresh Kashyap said that the central government is bearing the expenditure of Rs 1000 crore on the National Highways whose repair work is going on and which have been built. Recently, the Central Government sent Rs 38 crore for the repair of the National Highway near Manikaran. Similarly, there are 12 different types of heads under which money is received for the roads of Himachal Pradesh and Congress leaders have a habit of taking only the credit and they try their best to take the credit.

He said that we bring the money and also lay the foundation stone because the provision of this amount is made only on the request of the MP. All the funds that have come to Jubbal Kotkhai have come at the behest of the MP and recently an amount of Rs 1 crore has been received from the Central Government for the roads of Jubbal Kotkhai.
