Pratibha has accused state BJP of obstructing central assistance for reconstruction of Himachal
State Congress President Pratibha Singh has accused the state BJP leaders of obstructing central assistance for the reconstruction and relief work of the disaster-affected state due to political rivalry. She expressed surprise that the disaster relief amount of Rs. 1500 crore announced by the Prime Minister has not yet been released to the state, which is very worrying. She has said that the state’s Congress government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, is working day and night with unity to complete the reconstruction work of the disaster-affected state.
Pratibha Singh, criticizing the BJP, said that the BJP is making daily baseless statements against the state government, making unsuccessful attempts to mislead the people of the state. She alleged that the central government is discriminating against the state. Despite the state receiving no financial assistance from the central government, the state government is successfully fulfilling its responsibilities with its limited resources.
Pratibha Singh, while requesting for special relief to Himachal Pradesh to compensate for the revenue loss incurred by the state due to reduction in GST rates, has said that a special policy should be made for the development of hilly states like Himachal, because construction and reconstruction works in hilly areas cost more as compared to plain areas.
Pratibha Singh has again urged all the BJP MPs of the state to rise above party politics and make meaningful contribution in getting special financial assistance from the central leaders for the development of the state and reconstruction work of the disaster affected areas, for which the people of the state and the Congress will be grateful to these MPs.
