State Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh has said that Congress is strictly against any tampering with the Constitution in the country. Congress will never allow this to happen.
While starting the district level Save Constitution campaign here today, Pratibha Singh said that the BJP is trying to weaken the foundation of democracy that was laid by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the Constitution of the country. The voice of the opposition is being suppressed.
Pratibha Singh said that the Leader of Opposition Mr. Rahul Gandhi is raising a strong voice against rising unemployment and inflation in the country but he is prevented from speaking inside the House. With a spirit of revenge, Sonia Gandhi is making false cases against Rahul Gandhi and trying to harass him. Rahul Gandhi has started a nationwide campaign to save the country’s democracy and constitution and they have to make it successful with unity.
He said that Save the Constitution is an important national campaign of the Congress Party in the country, which they have to make successful and make the people aware about it.
Pratibha Singh has urged the party leaders to understand the sentiments of the workers and give them full importance. She said that any government is formed only due to the hard work of the workers and their hard work cannot be ignored at any level.
Expressing happiness over the decision of caste census in the country, he said that Rahul Gandhi was demanding caste census which has now been accepted by the central government. He said that when Rahul Gandhi had made this demand, at that time BJP had made fun of it. He said that now the Center has to bow down to his demand. He said that people of all castes will get their rights through caste census and this is the reason why Rahul Gandhi is fighting to save the Constitution.
He said that soon the executive committee of the District, Block and State Congress Committee will be formed. All those hardworking workers in the party who are working with full dedication for the strength of the party will be given full respect.
He said that Save Constitution will be held at the district level till May 10, after that from May 11 to May 17 at every assembly i.e. block level and after that from May 20 to May 30, party workers will go door to door to make people aware of the importance of this campaign. He called upon all the party leaders and workers to participate in this campaign with great enthusiasm.
Former minister Thakur Ram Lal, former MLA Bamber Thakur, Tilak Raj Sharma, former district president Anjana Dhiman also addressed the meeting.
Bamber Thakur stressed on discipline in the party and the meeting unanimously approved the proposal of Rahul Gandhi passed in Ahmedabad.
Thakur Ramlal asked everyone to come forward unitedly to protect the Constitution. He warned against doing politics in the name of religion and dividing people and said that such forces should be given a befitting reply.
During this, he also congratulated the people on Labor Day. He said that May 1 is celebrated all over the world in honor of the workers who have a significant contribution in the development of the country and its reconstruction. He said that Congress has always been in the forefront for the welfare of workers and will always remain so.
