Congress govt is hiding multi-crore scam in Shimla ropeway project : Sandipani
BJP state spokesperson Sandipani Bhardwaj alleged that corruption is rampant under the Congress government in the state, and the hard-earned money of the common people is being looted in an astonishing manner. He said that Congress leaders should respond to these allegations, but instead they are busy devising new scam schemes.
He said the most striking example of this is the Shimla Ropeway project. The government is attempting to award this nearly 2,000 crore rupee project to a favored company through a single tender. Sandipani Bhardwaj said that to advance this tender, one government minister traveled by helicopter to persuade another—a sign of the “height of greed” in Himachal’s political history.
Sandipani Bhardwaj alleged that some “friends” of the Congress government seem to want to grab this project today at any cost, because they themselves are not sure whether this government will survive tomorrow.
He raised questions as to who is that officer sitting in the Secretariat who is running this entire game and who is in a hurry to become the ‘head of the bureaucracy’ as soon as possible.
He also alleged that the Chief Minister himself had talked to the state in-charge of Congress to finalise this tender.
The BJP spokesperson said that despite a single tender being received, the bid was hundreds of crores of rupees higher, and now, under the guise of mere negotiations, preparations are underway to deceive the public by fixing the file. He challenged, “Just award the tender and see, the whole game will be revealed.”
Sandipani Bhardwaj demanded that the Chief Minister order a high-level investigation into the entire matter, to determine the extent of the manipulation of the tender process and which ministers were involved in the collusion. He warned that the BJP also possesses substantial information and will not hesitate to make it public when the time comes.
Finally, he said, “CM Sir, these officers belong to no one. Proceed wisely on this issue, or the top leadership of the Congress party will drown you.”
