Congress government is running away from discussions, that is why the sessions are getting shorter: Randhir

BJP Legislature Party meeting was held at Hotel Dhruv under the chairmanship of Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur. All the MLAs except Anil Sharma were present in the meeting.

MLA from Naina Devi Randhir Sharma said that BJP will corner the government through discussions whether it is the Governor’s speech or discussion on the budget. In the session, the issues of government’s failures, anti-people decisions and corruption will be raised strongly and the Bharatiya Janata Party will completely push the current Congress government on the back foot.

Randhir said that financial bankruptcy is the biggest issue in Himachal Pradesh and there are concerns about salaries, pensions, money given to the elderly in Himachal Pradesh. The financial condition of Himachal Pradesh has become so bad that the Centre’s money is being used to pay salaries and pensions. He alleged that if anyone is responsible for the financial crisis in Himachal Pradesh, then it is the Chief Minister himself because he is the Finance Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

He said that wasteful expenditure is a big issue in Himachal Pradesh, crores of rupees are being spent to increase the prestige and splendor of the ministers, similarly crores of rupees are being spent on lawyers to maintain the membership of CPS and an army of cabinet rank friends has been created in Himachal Pradesh, the government will be cornered on this too.

Randhir Sharma said that the government is running away from discussions, so whenever the assembly session is held in Himachal Pradesh, it is always short. Earlier, the budget session used to have 26 meetings and now it has only 16 meetings. Similarly, a short session of four days was also held in the winter session.

He said that law and order and drug abuse are also big issues which the opposition will discuss. The opposition is definitely going to put the current Congress government in the dock.

He also said that if BJP has to protest outside the assembly, then we will talk to the party about it and a decision can be taken in the party meeting.
