Congress criticises Govt to bring Food and Agriculture inputs under GST

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly criticized the union government to levy GST on the food and agriculture inputs in the country stating t that it would further press the people to wall. In a statement issued here today  Congress state chief and member of parliament from Mandi Pratibha Singh said that by increasing and levying the GST would work to sprinkling salt on the wounds of the people.Pratibha Singh said that today, the way inflation has made the lives of common people troublesom, owing tdictatorial policies and decisions of the central government.Ms Singh said that the government should give relief to the people from rising inflation. She said that the government should make essential food items free from GST so that people could eat bread comfortably.

 Pratibha Singh has demanded the central government to reconsider this decision and withdraw the increased rates of GST in public interest.Pratibha Singh has also demanded to free agriculture and horticulture packaging and inputs from the purview of GST.  She has also demanded from the government to withdraw the increase in the rates of apple cartons and packaging material. She said that the government is deliberately neglecting the apple growers.  She said that by giving subsidy on cartons and packaging material to apple growers, the orchardists should be saved from the exploitation of middlemen and it is the responsibility of the government.
