CMO presided over the district level monthly review meeting
District level monthly review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer District Shimla Dr. Rakesh Pratap in which block medical officers and employees from various health blocks of District Shimla participated. In the review meeting, Chief Medical Officer District Shimla evaluated the work of various health departments and also issued important guidelines for providing better health facilities. In the meeting, important health issues like dengue, scrub typhus, ampox, vaccination, institutional delivery, climate change management, Ayushman Arogya Camp, NCD and Aabha ID were discussed in detail and people were urged to be made aware about the prevention and treatment of these diseases.
In the meeting, the Chief Medical Officer issued instructions to the medical officers of all health blocks for the prevention and management of dengue. Giving information, Dr. Rakesh Pratap said that dengue is a vector-borne disease that is caused by the bite of an infected female mosquito. Its symptoms include severe headache, fever, pain in muscles and joints, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue and red spots on the body and in severe symptoms, bleeding may also occur through nose, mouth and stool. Giving further information, he advised that in case of such symptoms, one should immediately go to the nearest health center and get free blood test and treatment done.
The CMO appealed to the general public to not let water collect around the house to prevent this disease. Do not let water collect in things like tyres, bottles, cans etc. While working inside and outside the house, keep the whole body covered, especially legs, feet and arms, and take care of body hygiene, keep the house and surrounding environment clean. Do not let grass and weeds grow around the house. He said that all kinds of health facilities are available free of cost in every government health institution.
