CM Sukhu fulfills the fifth guarantee in 12 months, Naresh Chauhan terms it a historic decision
Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has taken several important decisions for the welfare of the women folk, the historic being, to provide Rs. 1500 per month to the eligible women of the state aged between 18 to 60 years to empower them economically. With this, Himachal Pradesh has become the first State in the country to announce Rs. 1500 to women, as Samman Rashi, thus fulfilling its 5th election guarantee given by the Congress Party. The government will spend approximately Rs. 800 crore on this, said he.
Naresh Chauhan said the government has fulfilled key five guarantees during its 14 months of rule. The people of the State are well aware of the fact, that despite financial constraints, such bold decisions have been taken in the interest of the state.
Sh. Chauhan said that the Chief Minister has made provisions in the budget for the welfare of every section. The honorarium of all categories like Para-workers, MNREGA laborers, and the representatives of Panchayati raj institutions has been enhanced.
The Government, under the dynamic leadership of Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, fulfilled its first guarantee by providing OPS to as many as 1.36 lakh employees of the state in the first cabinet after the formation of the government, he said. The Congress Party had promised to the people of the State to start English medium classes in all the government schools, which too has been fulfilled.
To fulfill the guarantee of providing employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth of the state, the Government started the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Yojna of Rs. 680 crore, wherein, in the first phase, 50 percent subsidy will be provided to purchase e-vehicles. Provision has been to attach these e-vehicles with the government departments so that there may be a permanent source of income for the youth.
He said that the second phase is also underway, wherein provision has been made to enable youth to set up Solar Power projects of 100 kw, 200 kw and 500 kw for which the government will provide them 50 percent subsidy to them to start their self-employment ventures.
Naresh Chauhan said that the Chief Minister has made provisions in the budget to strengthen the rural economy by announcing assistance to agriculturists, horticulturists, shepherds, and cattle rearers. The government has declared support price for the procurement of cow and buffalo milk thereby making Himachal the first state in India to ensure monetary profit to the cattle rearers. The support price for cow milk has been increased to Rs. 45 per litre and for buffalo milk Rs. 55 per litre. The government has made efforts to promote natural farming and has declared support prices for wheat and maize as well.
No conspiracy can stop the Chief Minister to serve the people of Himachal
Naresh Chauhan said that everyone has seen that an attempt was made to destabilize the democratically elected government as part of a conspiracy by the BJP. The Congress won 40 seats out of a total of 68 with the remaining 25 seats in the bag of by the BJP and three won by the independents. However, an attempt was made to destabilize a majority government. The priority of the Chief Minister is clear, to serve the people of the state. No such conspiracy can stop the Chief Minister from working, he claimed. The public has given a majority to Congress to run the government for five years. The government is carrying out all the development works and fulfilling the promises made to the people in its election manifesto and will complete its five-year tenure.
